What is C.A.R.E.?

C.A.R.E. is a 501(c) 3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization that supports academic excellence at all Celina campuses. C.A.R.E. is an academic booster club.

What does C.A.R.E. stand for?

C.A.R.E. stands for Celina Association of Renaissance Excellence. The Renaissance Age was a period in history in which patrons supported and encouraged the pursuit of knowledge. C.A.R.E. is fully funded by contributions and relies on businesses and families in and around our community for financial support.

When was C.A.R.E. founded?

C.A.R.E. was founded in 1992 by Jan Miller, a long time Celina teacher. C.A.R.E. was patterned after a national renaissance program which rewards academic improvement, as well as academic excellence. C.A.R.E. has evolved into a scholarship foundation that organizes community support to promote student achievement and encourage all students to pursue higher education following graduation.

How does C.A.R.E. help the Elementary, Intermediate and Middle Schools in Celina?

C.A.R.E. donates money annually to each campus to be used for academic incentives that reward strong academic performance as well as academic improvement.

How may I contribute to C.A.R.E.?

Contributions may be mailed to C.A.R.E., P.O. Box 116, Celina, TX 75009, or you may click on the Donate button on the home page to pay securely through PayPal. Attending and supporting the C.A.R.E. fundraisers is another great way to contribute to C.A.R.E. Volunteers are needed to help with fundraisers. If you are interested in being a C.A.R.E. volunteer, please go to the "Forms" tab and complete the "Volunteer Form".

What are some of the projects C.A.R.E. is involved in?

  • C.A.R.E. provided Tumblebook Reading Software to CES.
  • C.A.R.E. donated monies to CIS to be used for academic incentives.
  • C.A.R.E. purchased iPods and iPads to be used at CMS for academic purposes.
  • C.A.R.E. purchased graphing calculators for student use at CHS.

Last year we gave over $60,000 in college scholarships to 84 graduating seniors. This was a record number of applicants and it reflects that our district is growing and so is the needs of our students.
